Sox Spin: Pace of Play, Palka Gets a ROY Vote

Stark: Where does baseball go from here on pace of play? ($)

Another offseason, another pace of play article. The White Sox may be at a slight advantage if there were any major rules added to speed up the game considering most of their future starters are in the minors where the pitch clock is already a thing. However, probably the bigger win in a rule-shift scenario is that we won’t have to listen grizzled old veterans complaining about new rules and bat flips while Hawkaroo drones on about the game losing its ways.

Justice: Acuna, Ohtani named Rookies of the Year

It’s worth noting that Daniel Palka received one third place vote, which is outstanding. The White Sox should have a couple more ROY candidates coming through the pipeline. If Jimenez can stay healthy he’s an obvious candidate, but don’t sleep on Dylan Cease.
